Remove backup files ending with “~” from your system.
Filed under: , — 4 Comments May 1, 2013 Many text editors create backup files with names ending with “~”.
Most of the times these files are annoying and unnecessary … So, you can use the following piped commands to remove them : find / | grep “^.*~$” | sed -e ‘s/\(^.*$\)/”\1″/g’ | xargs rm -f > /dev/null 2>&1 Please take account that this version handles correctly also filepaths containing space characters.

Chatzikyriakidis May 7, 2013 at 16:25 The approach of P.
Christeas as I have written is only for GNU find version which probably is located in a GNU/Linux operating system .
However, .

The article is more general since there is no reference to GNU operating systems (e.g

GNU/Linux, GNU/Hurd).

Christeas approach is the correct method.

If find missing delete then its not a GNU/Linux distro

E.
Chatzikyriakidis May 1, 2013 at 17:25 There are many ways to achieve this.
I didn’t want to use ‘-delete’ since this option might be missing from some versions of ‘find’.

We could use also ‘-exec rm’ but both ‘-delete’ and ‘-exec’ are for GNU find

Other versions might not have these smart options yet.

Christeas May 1, 2013 at 16:59 find -name ‘*~’ -delete.

I say noodling because I”ve produced no finished work

After almost twenty years using InDesign and ten years of Posthuman

there is no situation where I could reasonably migrate away from it in even five years, especially as Affinity doesn”t (yet?) import InDesign or IDML documents.

How to restore a user on VestaCP.
, , , .

After you have backup up your users on VestaCP you can easily restore them

Please note if you have backedup your user with cPanel or other system this tutorial will not work.
First of all please copy the archives on path /backup/.
After that the following command will help you to restore a user in VestaCP is: v-restore-user user nameofarchive.tar So lets say we want to restore user mmm with archive name mmm.2019-06-07_10-05-58.tar.
The command will look like this: v-restore-user mmm mmm.2019-06-07_10-05-58.tar Please note: from what i have seen you need to use the same username as on the old server.
The system will give you an error if you wish to change the username into something new.
If i exported user mmm i need to import the same user mmm.
It will not allow me to change the username as something else.
